Cranford Homes

Cranford lies between Exits 136 and 137 on the Garden State Parkway, less than 20 miles from Manhattan and about 7 miles from Staten Island. It was settled by English colonists around 1720, and incorporated as a township in 1871.

Once known as the Venice of New Jersey, Cranford is built along the Rahway River, which meanders through much of the township's 415 acres of parkland and on which residents fish and canoe. More than 13 miles of bicycle paths tie the town together; many residents use bicycles as part of their commutes.

Public schools are excellent.

The charming downtown, with its brick sidewalks and Victorian street lamps, features restaurants, a movie theater, and many fine shops. Additional shopping, dining and entertainment in neighboring towns, at malls, and on U.S. Route 22, is less than ten minutes away.

The township has professional fire and police departments, a volunteer First Aid Squad, a fine public library, indoor and outdoor pools and tennis courts.

Frequent bus and train service links Cranford to Newark (about 20 minutes) and Manhattan's Port

Authority and Penn Station terminals (about 40 minutes).

Cranford's proximity to Manhattan, wonderful atmosphere and first-rate facilities have led many one- and two-career couples to move here from New York City. It truly is a wonderful place to live and raise children, an ideal family town!
